Mets’ Kodai Senga is Convinced His Injury Issues Are Behind Him

Senga said he’s been “normal and healthy” since early January after missing almost all of last season with multiple ailments.

“I am not worried at all,” Senga said through his interpreter. “I just need to ramp up slowly and get through spring training healthy and pitching a lot of innings so we can go deep into the postseason.”

“This offseason has been really great in terms of evaluating what types of movements I need and don’t need,” he said. “I have been able to work on that and I feel really good up to this point. I just need to ramp up slowly.”

The Mets plan to employ a six-man rotation, largely to provide extra rest for Senga, who was accustomed to such a schedule in Japan. Senga, in his first season with the Mets, was better with the extra day of rest than on a normal schedule.

  • Blue Diamond to Sell for Record-Breaking 48 Million!

Blue Diamond to Sell for Record-Breaking 48 Million!

A 15.1-carat fancy vivid blue diamond is projected to be auctioned for a whopping $48 million — the highest estimate ever for a blue diamond.

The gemstone — known as the De Beers Cullinan Blue — will be the largest fancy vivid blue diamond to appear in an auction when it is offered up at Sotheby’s Hong Kong.

The jewel was first discovered in April 2021 at the South African Cullinan mine, which, according to Sotheby’s, is one of the very few places in the world to discover rare blue gems.

“Blue diamonds of any kind are rare on the market, but this is the rarest of the rare; nothing of remotely similar caliber has appeared at auction in recent years,” said Chairman of Sotheby’s Asia Patti Wong.

The chunk of stone was originally cut from a 39.34-carat rough piece from the mine, which was purchased from De Beers in 2008.

The mine is also the source of the largest rough gem diamond ever discovered. In 1905, the hefty 3,106 carat rock was cut to create two of the British Crown Jewels.

  • Jets Officially Parting Ways With Quarterback Aaron Rodgers

Jets Officially Parting Ways With Quarterback Aaron Rodgers

The Jets made official what was already widely anticipated. QB Aaron Rodgers will not return for the 2025 season.

“Last week we met with Aaron and shared that our intention was to move in a different direction at quarterback,” said head coach Aaron Glenn.

“I personally want to thank Aaron for his time at the New York Jets,” owner Woody Johnson said in a statement. “His arrival in 2023 was met with unbridled excitement and I will forever be grateful that he chose to join us to continue his Hall of Fame career. I wish him only the best in whatever he chooses to do next.”

After tearing his Achilles in the 2023 season opener against Buffalo, Rodgers returned to the field in 2024, playing all 17 games despite dealing with injuries to his hamstring, knee, and ankle. In his first full year as Gang Green’s starter, Rodgers completed 368 of 584 passes for 3,897 yards and 28 touchdowns to 11 interceptions. On paper, Rodgers’ numbers were solid, but the Jets went 5-12 as the season quickly unraveled after a 2-3 start.
