Michelob Ultra Dethrones Modelo Especial to Become America’s New Top-selling Beer Brand

Fox Business reported that the beer’s rise to the top is attributed to strategic sponsorships, including being the NBA’s first-ever global beer sponsor and the official beer sponsor for the FIFA World Cup.

Michelob Ultra’s success also comes amid the backdrop of the backlash against Bud Light, another Anheuser-Busch brand, following a controversial marketing campaign. This allowed Modelo Especial to claim the top spot temporarily. However, Michelob Ultra’s consistent growth in both retail and on-premise channels helped it dethrone Modelo.

The beer’s low-carb profile and marketing strategy have resonated with consumers, contributing to its rise.

Honda Recalls 256,000 Vehicles That Could Lose Power While Driving

According to Kelley Blue Book, the issue originates from improper settings in the fuel injection electronic control unit (FI-ECU). Sudden changes in throttle opening can trigger a torque control failure, leading to engine hesitation, power loss, or stalling. As of mid-January 2025, Honda had received 674 warranty claims related to this problem but reported no crashes or injuries.

To resolve the issue, Honda dealers will reprogram the software free of charge. Owners can check if their vehicle is part of the recall by locating their 17-character Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) and entering it on the Honda Recall Information page or the NHTSA recall lookup tool.

Head Coaching Candidates for NY Giants Include Former Player

Pierce, 47, who started at middle linebacker for the Giants during the final five seasons of his nine-year playing career, was included on a list of candidates that also includes former NFL head coach Mike McCarthy, Green Bay Packers defensive coordinator Jeff Hafley, Indianapolis Colts defensive coordinator Lou Anarumo and Los Angeles Rams defensive coordinator Chris Shula.

Pierce went 4-13 during his only season as the Raiders’ full-time head coach in 2024, having previously gone 5-4 as an interim during the final nine games of the 2023 season. The former linebacker was hired full-time after an impressive late season run, which included an upset of the eventual Super Bowl champion Kansas City Chiefs on Christmas Day.

The Raiders, however, failed to duplicate that success during a 4-13 season in 2024, which included a 10-game losing streak.

The Giants fired former head coach Brian Daboll in November after a 24-20 loss to the Chicago Bears, which saw them blow a 20-10 fourth quarter lead.
