WWE in Billion Dollar Deal With ESPN

WWE fans will get a first taste of the company’s new partnership with ESPN. WWE and ESPN revealed that the first premium live event on ESPN platforms will be the first-ever Wrestlepalooza, with a main event  featuring WWE legend John Cena.

The WWE and ESPN reached an agreement for the broadcaster to become the exclusive home of premium live events. The deal reportedly was for a whopping total of $1.625 billion over five years, with an annual value of $325 million.

The partnership includes the creation of a new event called Wrestlepalooza.

In addition to Cena being the headliner for Wrestlepalooza, a release revealed that Undisputed WWE Champion Cody Rhodes, World Heavyweight Champion Seth Rollins, WWE Women’s Intercontinental Champion Becky Lynch, CM Punk and Drew McIntyre will all be featured “in major matches throughout the night.” Wrestlepalooza will be held at Gainbridge Fieldhouse in Indianapolis, marking the last time Cena wrestles in the city before his retirement.

Beyond Meat Revamps Plant-Based Burger

Beyond Meat is revamping its signature plant-based burger, hoping that healthier ingredients will help it boost flagging US sales.

The El Segundo, California-based company said its new Beyond Burger patties and Beyond Beef grounds cut saturated fat by 60% by switching from canola and coconut oils to avocado oil. The new beef products also have less sodium and more protein.

Beyond Meat has updated its products before; this is the fourth generation of the Beyond Burger. But they say this is the biggest leap forward the brand has made since the Beyond Burger went on sale in 2016.

The company spent years developing the new recipe with input from nutritionists and doctors, trying to provide the benefits of plant-based eating in a burger that mimics the taste and texture of animal meat.

“Health is one of the top drivers to the plant-based meat category, and we feel a deep responsibility to deliver on that expectation for the consumer,” said a company spokesperson.

The new Beyond Burger significantly improves that health profile. It has 2 grams of saturated fat, or 10% of the recommended daily intake, and 14% of the recommended intake of sodium. A single patty has 230 calories, which is the same as the outgoing burger.

Commanders Stifle the Giants in a 21-6 Win

Wilson and the Giants’ offense struggled today in a season-opening 21-6 loss to the Commanders.

Giants first-round draft pick Jaxson Dart is currently Wilson’s backup, but Dart looked good enough in the preseason that many fans will want him to start, especially after Wilson could generate only two field goals today.

Wilson averaged just 4.5 yards per pass and a 45.9 percent completion rate, completing 17 of 37 passes for 168 yards. He was the Giants’ leading rusher with 44 yards on eight carries. The Giants need more passing and less rushing from Wilson.

Commanders quarterback Jayden Daniels went 19-for-30 for 233 yards with a touchdown, and running back Jacory Croskey-Merritt had a strong debut with 10 carries for 82 yards and a touchdown. Deebo Samuel was the Commanders’ leading receiver with seven catches for 77 yards.

Aaron Rodgers Tosses 4 Touchdowns Against Jets in Tremendous Steelers Debut

In a high-scoring game, Aaron Rodgers and the Steelers recorded a 34-32 win over the Jets in Week 1 of the 2025 regular season. Rodgers led the Steelers to victory by throwing four touchdown passes against his former team.

Pittsburgh took the lead for good on Chris Boswell’s career-long 60-yard field goal with just over a minute left. The Steelers iced the win after newcomer Jalen Ramsey broke up Justin Fields’ fourth-down pass with 25 seconds left.

The Steelers trailed most of the way before scoring two touchdowns in less than a minute early in the fourth quarter. The Jets briefly re-gained the lead before an 11-yard completion from Rodgers to DK Metcalf helped set up Boswell’s game-winning field goal.

Rodgers finished the game with 244 yards on 22 of 30 passing. In a nice effort, Jets QB Fields threw for 218 yards and a touchdown against his former team. He also ran for two touchdowns on the ground.

Mets Beat Phillies, Nolan McLean Impresses

In just his third start, McLean absolutely dominated in a 6-0 win for New York over Philadelphia. In the game, he pitched eight innings and gave up four hits. McLean walked no batters and struck out six. He also didn’t approach 100 pitches on the night, which was even more impressive considering the fact that the starting pitching has struggled for most of the season.

Nolan McLean could be the New York Mets’ potential ace moving forward

Mets fans will not dispute that David Peterson has been the best starting pitcher on the team before McLean. Since McLean arrived, the rotation has been different and better.

During the Phillies matchup, McLean had the Phillies hitters looking confused. He has faced quality lineups in all three games he has appeared in. This could go a long way for the Mets.
